Dr. Michael Mollo assumes the lead surgeon role at Carolina Hair Surgery

For nearly two decades, Michael Vories, MD has built Carolina Hair Surgery’s reputation as one of the top hair transplant clinics in the world through a meticulous, personal approach to FUE hair transplantation. At the heart of that approach is direct physician involvement: the surgeon performs follicle extraction, implantation, and the other key surgical components, with careful attention to the details that shape each patient’s results.

That commitment continues as Carolina Hair Surgery welcomes its next generation of surgical leadership with Michael A. Mollo, MD.

Dr. Mollo brings a personal perspective to hair restoration—he has experienced hair loss and had Dr. Vories restore his hair. He understands the questions, expectations, and personal significance that come with deciding to undergo a hair transplant, as well as the excitement of seeing his hair restored. That experience inspired a deep interest in helping others navigate the same journey and achieve their cosmetic goals.

Recognizing that passion and his surgical background, Dr. Vories worked with Dr. Mollo through a year-long, closely supervised training program focused on Carolina Hair Surgery’s FUE methodology. Throughout that training, Dr. Mollo demonstrated the superior technical skill, patience, and attention to detail this demanding procedure requires.

As Dr. Mollo assumes the primary surgical role, patients can continue to expect the physician-performed approach that has distinguished Carolina Hair Surgery. He personally performs follicle extraction and implantation, along with other key components of the procedure, carrying forward the practice’s commitment to individualized care and the careful surgical execution every Carolina Hair Surgery Patient Expects.

Dr. Vories is transitioning away from a full-time surgical schedule into a consulting role within the practice. He will remain available for patient consultations and continue contributing his experience and guidance.

This transition reflects a shared commitment to Carolina Hair Surgery’s future: preserving the principles on which the practice was built while bringing the energy, perspective, and dedication of a new surgical leader to patient care.

Whether you are exploring hair restoration for the first time or returning to discuss your next steps, we welcome the opportunity to introduce you to Dr. Mollo.
